(NOTE: As of Spring 2016, The Annie was officially retired by Sarah Wells – I am as sad as you are… BUT There are many more great Sarah Wells bags! Click HERE to see the entire line in this post!)
Why I love Sarah Wells Annie Bags:
Have you ever wondered why breast pump bags are so ugly? I mean they look like you are transporting a hazardous substance…They are quite unsightly. Case in point:

Not a Sarah Wells Bag
When I went back to work after having my first baby, I carted my Pump in Style breast pump and cooler in a huge tote. Then I had my purse and laptop bag…I honestly looked ridiculous walking into the office each day.
Like maybe I was moving in because of all the bags I carried. And it was every single day.
I was almost embarrassed to carry my breast pump tote because it screamed, “look at me!” I worked in a very professional setting with mostly older men…So it was uncomfortable enough without drawing all eyes to my breast pump.
Then I found Sarah Wells.
She gets it.
She has taken everything we hoped for and needed in a breast pump bag combined it and then made it stylish. On the outside, you would never know that someone was carrying around a breast pump. The bag’s sleek and modern design is perfect for on-the-go moms.
I have gotten numerous compliments on my Sarah Wells bag. Most people think it’s just a fantastic purse!
The best part is that I was able to combine all three of the bags I was carrying down to one! The Sarah Wells Annie Bag has a place for your pump, milk storage, laptop, wallet, and anything else you want to throw in it.
Let’s Talk Specs

- Features two foil-lined thermal side pockets to fit breast pump and bottle of breast milk (one is 5″ x 8″ and the other is 10″ x 8″)
- Thermal side pockets keep milk cool for up to 6 hours
- Made with durable, faux leather so no need to add protective coats and wipes clean easily
What Pumps Fit into the Sarah Wells Annie Bag?
The Sarah Wells Annie bag fits a number of pumps into the side pocket with or without the case. Here are a few:
- Medela Pump in Style
- Medela Freestyle
- Hygeia
- Freemie
- Spectra
- Ardo
- Ameda
Larger pumps, like the Medela Symphony, would need to go into the main pocket of the bag as they don’t fit in the smaller side pockets. But the large, main pocket can fit most large pumps.

What else Fits in the Sarah Wells Annie Bag?
Well, in short, a lot. Here is a great video that shows you just how much you can fit into the Sarah Wells Annie Bag. Note: In the video, is the Lizzy bag but for demonstration, the bags are just about the same size.
What are Moms saying about the Annie
The reviews on Amazon show a 4.5-star rating which is impressive. Other working moms, like me, found the same pleasure in carrying this bag around.
Here are some of the positives:
Most of the not so favorable reviews involved complaints about the extra shoulder strap included. Here are a few:
I personally did not have an issue with the shoulder strap but it is on the thinner side. I could see how if you overloaded the bag and it was really heavy that it might break at some point. I do agree that the shoulder strap could be thicker.
But I do appreciate that Sarah Wells (designer) seems to really want customers to be satisfied. On her website, she wrote in the FAQ sections:
I want you to be SO HAPPY with your purchase of my stylish breast pump bags; so while you can always contact Amazon if you have any issues, I welcome your direct outreach to me at info@sarahwellsbags dot com and you can be assured I’ll do everything I can to make this an awesome experience for you
I think that at the end of the day, we just want to feel comfortable with what we purchase when spending that much money.

Bottomline
This bag is amazing! I think it was money well spent even though it was a splurge for me. Let’s face it, after having a baby, your self-esteem takes a small hit. At least, for me, that was true. I wasn’t in my “pre-pregnancy” clothes at the time I had to return to work. I had bags under my eyes since my baby refused to sleep through the night. So finding something that made me feel better about how I looked really helped.
So finding something that made me feel better about how I looked really helped. I hope all you moms stay stylish and love the Annie bag as much as I do!
