Why I love Sarah Wells Annie Bags:

Have you ever wondered why breast pump bags are so ugly? I mean they look like you are transporting a hazardous substance…They are quite unsightly. Case in point:

Not a Sarah Wells Bag

When I went back to work after having my first baby, I carted my Pump in Style breast pump and cooler in a huge tote. Then I had my purse and laptop bag…I honestly looked ridiculous walking into the office each day.

Like maybe I was moving in because of all the bags I carried. And it was every single day.

I was almost embarrassed to carry my breast pump tote because it screamed, “look at me!” I worked in a very professional setting with mostly older men…So it was uncomfortable enough without drawing all eyes to my breast pump.

Then I found Sarah Wells.

She gets it.

sarah-wells-annie-bagShe has taken everything we hoped for and needed in a breast pump bag combined it and then made it stylish. On the outside, you would never know that someone was carrying around a breast pump. The bag’s sleek and modern design is perfect for on-the-go moms.

I have gotten numerous compliments on my Sarah Wells bag. Most people think it’s just a fantastic purse!

The best part is that I was able to combine all three of the bags I was carrying down to one! The Sarah Wells Annie Bag has a place for your pump, milk storage, laptop, wallet, and anything else you want to throw in it.

  3. Features two foil-lined thermal side pockets to fit breast pump and bottle of breast milk (one is 5″ x 8″ and the other is 10″ x 8″)
  4. Thermal side pockets keep milk cool for up to 6 hours
  5. Made with durable, faux leather so no need to add protective coats and wipes clean easily

What Pumps Fit into the Sarah Wells Annie Bag?

The Sarah Wells Annie bag fits a number of pumps into the side pocket with or without the case. Here are a few:

  • Medela Pump in Style
  • Medela Freestyle
  • Hygeia
  • Freemie
  • Spectra
  • Ardo
  • Ameda

Larger pumps, like the Medela Symphony, would need to go into the main pocket of the bag as they don’t fit in the smaller side pockets. But the large, main pocket can fit most large pumps.

What else Fits in the Sarah Wells Annie Bag?

Well, in short, a lot. Here is a great video that shows you just how much you can fit into the Sarah Wells Annie Bag. Note: In the video, is the Lizzy bag but for demonstration, the bags are just about the same size.

What are Moms saying about the Annie

sarah-wells-annie-bagThe reviews on Amazon show a 4.5-star rating which is impressive. Other working moms, like me, found the same pleasure in carrying this bag around.

Here are some of the positives:

Most of the not so favorable reviews involved complaints about the extra shoulder strap included. Here are a few:

I personally did not have an issue with the shoulder strap but it is on the thinner side. I could see how if you overloaded the bag and it was really heavy that it might break at some point. I do agree that the shoulder strap could be thicker.

But I do appreciate that Sarah Wells (designer) seems to really want customers to be satisfied. On her website, she wrote in the FAQ sections:

I want you to be SO HAPPY with your purchase of my stylish breast pump bags; so while you can always contact Amazon if you have any issues, I welcome your direct outreach to me at info@sarahwellsbags dot com and you can be assured I’ll do everything I can to make this an awesome experience for you

I think that at the end of the day, we just want to feel comfortable with what we purchase when spending that much money.

This bag is amazing! I think it was money well spent even though it was a splurge for me. sarah-wells-annie-bagLet’s face it, after having a baby, your self-esteem takes a small hit. At least, for me, that was true. I wasn’t in my “pre-pregnancy” clothes at the time I had to return to work. I had bags under my eyes since my baby refused to sleep through the night. So finding something that made me feel better about how I looked really helped.

So finding something that made me feel better about how I looked really helped. I hope all you moms stay stylish and love the Annie bag as much as I do!

  1. Julie says:

I’m so glad I came across Sarah Wells on your blog. I wish I knew about this before! As a mom, I completely understand how stressful it can get packing everything you need and squeezing in your breast pump. Thanks to Sarah Wells now I can do both and never have to worry about being unfashionable ever again.

    • Heather Grace says:

Great! I think you will be very happy. I love my Sarah Wells bag! It is a huge stress relief to get everything into one bag. Plus you look cute!

  2. Steve says:

Love the layout of your website. Great content in the article on the Sarah Wells breast pump. Lots of great detail and paragraphs were the right size so as not to lose my attention. I was also impressed with the variety of links you have for people to buy the different products you’re blogging about. The different colored fonts in the different sections of the blog page were very soothing and I believe would make your site very inviting for women looking for what your website offers.

  3. Tempest says:

I really liked this review. I don’t have to worry about breast pump bags myself, but I have many friends who carry them around, and they’re constantly talking about how annoying it is. I’ll definitely have to recommend this to them and show them your review, especially because you included so many valuable pieces of information about it within your page as well. Thank you.

    • Heather Grace says:

Thank you! I have to agree with your friends that it is annoying carrying around those factory standard pump bags. They are ugly and bulky. I wish I had known about the Sarah Wells bags sooner!

  4. Jessica says:

    Hi Heather,

That is one smart looking bag. There is really no way that anyone could tell it was anything more than a purse or possibly laptop bag. Especially men! I think that is what is so great about it. You seem to use the diaper bag for everything and never get a chance to have anything stylish and cool until the kids are out of diapers. So this is a great way to hang to something stylish while still being practical for moms. I think the issue with the shoulder strap is something that is coming up more frequently with bags in general. I can’t seem to keep a laptop bag for more than a year or two because of that strap breaking all the time. And when they know you need to carry heavy things, why make a flimsy shoulder strap?

    • Heather Grace says:

Yeah, that’s strange to me too… I wish the shoulder strap on this was thicker but like I said, I haven’t had any issues with it breaking. But I don’t overload the bag either. And I did use the bag even after I was done pumping as a diaper bag. It worked great! I think most mothers would find this bag useful long after they are done breastfeeding.

  5. Christine says:

I wish I had one of these bags when I had my babies. They look great and would fit everything you need to carry around. I am going to buy one for my daughter when she has her baby in 3 months time. I am so glad you found this bag and wrote a review on it. Thanks heaps.

  6. Dominic says:

Hi Heather, what can I say, that is one cool looking handbag for women and you still have space for your breast pump. Like you said, Sarah Wells brands really get it. They know that breast pumping mom still want to look stylish and trendy when they go out 😉 At $165, I guess it is kinda pricey but I still think it’s worth it. The value still can be considered as great because it is useful and practical for mothers without looking out of place J

    • Heather Grace says:

It definitely is worth the price. A nice handbag typically costs around that price if not more so I think it is comparable to an everyday bag a women may buy. One thing I liked about this bag is that you can continue to use it even after you are done pumping. I used mine as a daiper bag and regular purse. Still looks great!
