What is Amazon Prime Day?
Prime Day is an annual event that Amazon offers it’s Prime Members only.
It is basically Christmas in July!
It has taken place every year in the summertime (traditionally July) since 2014. Every year the sales get bigger and better!
Hundreds of thousands of deals are offered on everything from Baby Items to Music, Pet Items, home goods, appliances, and more. Lightning deals start as often as every 5 minutes (and go fast!). They offer special deals across everything offered on Prime.
Of course, Baby Items are a massive part of Prime Day deals!
You will find a lot of baby items
Last year we saw Sarah Wells pump bags, strollers, bottles, nursery furniture, clothes, diapers, etc, etc, etc go to amazingly low prices! It is so worth following the deals!
If you need anything at all for your new arrival or even older kids, this is the time of year to buy!
With how successful the last Prime Day sale was for Amazon, I expect we will see a ton more items on sale and better deals this coming year!
When is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is typically held during the month of July and historically has landed in the second week of the month (usually Monday and Tuesday of that week).
You can actually get deals early if you are an Alexa user. Historically, Alexa users start getting deals in the days leading up to Prime Day including access to daily deals throughout the year!
How do I Participate in Prime Day?
To make the most of the deals offered on Amazon Prime Day, here are a few things you need to do.
Step 1 – Become a Prime Member

Step 2 – Consider an Amazon Prime Store Card
If you use Amazon often, this is the time of year to have an Amazon Prime Store Card
The store card gives you 5% back every day of the year on eligible items (items sold by Amazon) when you purchase them with your store card but on Amazon Prime Day, you get even more back!
For Prime Day 2017, Amazon gave Prime Store Card holders 20% back! That’s HUGE!
You don’t need a store card to get access to Amazon Prime deals but it certainly does pay to have one! If you are interested in getting even more savings, getting the store card is the way to go!

Step 3 – Start Your Amazon Baby Registry!
Okay so here’s the good stuff…
If you are expecting a baby, I will let you in on a secret…You can save BIG on your registry items on Amazon Prime Day!
This is a must for all expecting moms!
Here’s how:

- Add all your needed items to your new registry
- Check your registry on Prime Day!
- Items will reflect the sale prices for Prime Day helping you save $$$ on your registry purchases!
Pro Tip: Most Prime items on Amazon Baby Registry are eligible for a one-time completion discount. If your timing is right, you may be able to apply it to your Prime Day purchases on your registry! This will take some planning and will be a huge help if you have large items to purchase like strollers, furniture, etc!

Step 4 – Get Alexa Ready!
As I mentioned above, Alexa users have gotten deals before anyone else in the days leading up to Prime Day.
If you have thought about getting an Alexa enabled device like the Amazon Echo or Dot, now is a great time!
Why have Alexa?
If you use Prime a lot, Alexa comes in handy when it comes to reorders, order status, purchasing a new product, etc. All you have to do is ask her and she will give you the Amazon choice for the product and order it for you.
It’s great for when you are in the middle of something and don’t want to forget batteries, laundry detergent, soap, etc.

Daily Deals will last the entire day of Prime Day until the inventory sells out.
